Pacifica Christian High School Athletics

Girls Volleyball Wins First Home Game of the Season

After dropping the first set, the Pacifica Christian High School girls volleyball team showed resilience and determination to storm back and win the next three sets, defeating Calvary Chapel Santa Ana in a comeback victory. The match, which began with early struggles for the Tritons, quickly turned into a showcase of grit, teamwork, and standout individual performances that fueled their 3-1 win.

Emma Hartman led the charge at the net with a dominant 16 kills, powering the offense and helping swing the momentum in Pacifica's favor after the opening set loss. She also contributed 3 blocks alongside teammate Ella Hogan, who made key stops that helped slow down Calvary Chapel's hitters.

From the service line, Emery Pelinka gave Pacifica a crucial edge with 6 aces, consistently applying pressure on Calvary Chapel's back row. Her serves helped to swing the energy in Pacifica's favor, forcing errors and giving Pacifica the breathing room they needed to execute their offense. Pelinka's clutch serving was a momentum-shifter at key moments throughout the match.

Quarterbacking the offense was Addie Roberson, who dished out 23 assists with precision and confidence. Her ability to keep the ball moving and involve multiple hitters kept the Calvary defense guessing and allowed Pacifica to control the pace of the match. With the team firing on all cylinders after the first set, the Tritons proved that they can respond under pressure and finish strong.

The Tritons will travel to Whittier Christian on Thursday, August 21. Their next home game is against Marina High School next Tuesday, August 26 at 5:30pm in the Triton Event Center.
