Girls’ Tennis Battles Hard in Season Finale Against Fairmont Prep, Co-League Champions


In an intense and emotional showdown yesterday, the Triton girls' varsity tennis team faced off against Fairmont Prep in the final match of the regular season. After hours of competitive play, the Tritons came up just short in one of the closest matches of the year. After all 18 matches had been played, it was all tied at nine a piece with, but the Tritons lost on the tiebreaker, losing 70-72 on games.

From the very first serve, both teams displayed outstanding skill and determination. The Orange and Navy singles players showed grit and consistency, pushing several matches to tiebreaks and keeping the energy high throughout the afternoon. Doubles teams also delivered standout performances, demonstrating sharp teamwork and great court awareness under pressure.

Despite the narrow loss, the match marked a proud conclusion to an incredible season. With the result, the Tritons finish in a tie for the league title with Fairmont Prep, a testament to the players' commitment, improvement, and unity all season long.

Coach Jen praised the team's resilience, saying, "They all fought like it was their last match. I saw a different version of them yesterday, a version that I loved, and I'm excited to see that come out in the end of season tournaments."

This is the third league title in four years for the girls tennis program. Congratulations to the entire team on an exceptional year!
