Tennis Host Millikan in First Round of CIF
Pacifica Christian Girls Tennis advanced to the CIF Division 3 Southern Section Playoffs for the third time in a row since the program was founded. The Orange and Navy finished runner-up in Division 4 in the 2021-2022 season, after losing to Mark Kepel in the finals, and after their stellar performance last season, the squad moved to Division 3. The Tritons have been dominant all season long, and led by the senior leadership of Kiana Giunta, Lexie MacDougall, and Aubrey Callaghan.
The Orange and Navy finished the season with an overall record of 13-1 and went undefeated in the San Joaquin League, finishing the year 10-0. The squad clinched the San Joaquin League Title for the second year in a row and enters the postseason as the number-one team out of the league. The Tritons will host Millikan High School in the first round on Wednesday, November 1, at OC Great Park, because OCC is unavailable that afternoon. Matches will begin at 2:00pm on courts 20-25.
Millikan enters the postseason after finishing third in the Moore League. The Rams went 7-6 this season and went 6-4 in their respective league. There are no direct common opponents between the Tritons and the Rams and this will be their first time meeting in program history.
If the Tritons advance, they will play the second round on Friday, November 3rd, against the winner of Cerritos and Saugus.
