Ferdi, Davidson, Dion All Advance to Day Two of League Prelims
Pacifica Christian Girl's Golf is making history once again. Not only did the program finish the season with a 9-4 record, but they also sent three golfers to compete in the League Preliminary Round today at Mile Square Golf Course which is the most to ever be sent in a single season. Senior Nat Ferdi, Junior Samantha Davidson, and Sophomore Kaitlyn Dion all competed for the Tritons today. All three girls made the cut and will compete in the second round tomorrow at Skylink Golf Course in Long Beach.
"The girls played really well today," stated Head Coach Jeff Anderson. "All year they have been proving themselves day in and day out. They have been setting school records along the way and now each of them qualifying for the second day, which has never happened before and I am so happy for them!"
Only 16 golfers are invited to the League Tournament at the end of the season. The League Tournament is used to determine an Individual League Champion, All-League Honors, and who gets to move on to the CIF-SS Prelims. After the first day, Sam Davidson led the Tritons, shooting 91 after 18 holes, which was good enough for a 7th overall finish. Kaitlyn and Nat both finished the day with record-breaking scores, both earning spots on day two.
If any of the Tritons finish in the top eight after the second day, they will qualify for the CIF-SS Prelims, another first for the Girl's Golf Program!
The first tee tomorrow is 10:30 am
