Tritons Stung by the Lightening
Girl's Golf was back out on the links today as they faced off against cross-town rival Sage Hill. The squad, led by Head Coach Jeff Anderson and Assistant Coach Kamryn Keller, have had a busy season, with eight matches already in the books and four more left in the regular season.
Thursday's match took place at Newport Beach Golf Course where six Lady Triton players headed off to face the Lightning of Sage Hill. Sophomore Sam Davidson and Senior Treye Hall started the Orange and Navy off, followed by Freshman Kaitlyn Dion and Junior Natalie Ferdi. The third and final group of the day was Senior Eszter Cowell and Junior Savannah Morwood.
Junior Natalie Ferdi shot the lowest score of the day for the Tritons, putting up a 42, and closely behind her was Sam Davidson, posting a 43. One stroke behind Davison was Freshman Kaitlyn Dion shooting 44. Cowell, Morewood, and Hall finished out the day shooting 53, 56, and 59 respectively. Unfortunately, the Lady Tritons fell to the Lightning by a final score of 238-191.
"I am very proud of the girls' effort that they have been putting into this season." comments Anderson, "Their hard work has been paying off and the future looks bright for this program!"
The Tritons will take on the Huskies of Fairmont Prep, next Wednesday, October 13 at Birch Hills Golf Course in Brea.
