The Pacifica Christian Girl's Basketball team continued their 18 game winning streak on Tuesday night as they beat the visiting Santa Monica High School 75-41 in the CIF Division 2 State Playoff opening round. Coming into the game, the Tritons were 25-5 on the season and ranked #7 while the Vikings were 20-6 and were ranked #10.

"We're successful by playing hard and wanting it more than the other team," says Head Coach Chyanne Butler. "The girls never give up and it's amazing to watch".

The Tritons took the lead early and remained dominant throughout all four quarters. Leading the Tritons to victory was freshman Addison Deal, who had 31 points, 5 assists, and 9 rebounds on the night. Senior Ava Carter and Junior Charis Wondercheck also had great performances. Carter had 14 points and 14 rebounds and Wondercheck had 11 points and 2 assists.

In the next round of the State Tournament, the Tritons will take on the #2 seeded Ontario Christian. With a 30-4 overall record, the Knights finished first in the Ambassador League and ranked #1 in Division 2A. The squad did lose 69-65 in the CIF Division 2A Finals to #2 Santiago. Within similar opponents, both the Knights and the Tritons have beaten Brentwood High School earlier in the season.
