Freshman Addison Deal Named CIF-SS Division 4A Player of the Year

This past Monday, March 14, Freshman Addison Deal was named CIF-SS Division 4A Girls Basketball Player of the Year, the first student-athlete in school history to be honored with such an award. Deal was a part of the historic CIF-SS Division 4A Championship Team, defeating Temple City High School in the finals 69-44, advancing to the CIF State Quarterfinals, and bringing home a third Academy League title, the most league titles by any program at Pacifica Christian.

Addison Deal kicked off her high school career by scoring 26 points, having eight assists, and securing nine rebounds in their season opener vs Samueli Academy. Against Avalon, in Pacifica's annual Mid-Day Game, she tallied 34 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Deal also had a quadruple-double during the CIF-SS Semifinals against Shalhevet, securing 29 points, 12 steals, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.

The 5'11" point guard currently holds an NCAA Division I offer from Louisiana State University and was named CalHiSports Southern California Girl's Basketball Player of the Week earlier this season. Scorebook Live also listed her in the top 35 point guards in California for her phenomenal midseason averages of 21.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 steals.

Rounding out her amazing first season of high school basketball, Deal is a favorite to bring the Tritons back to another CIF-SS Final and stretch her school records even further during her next few years. Congratulations, Addison!
