On Saturday Evening, the Pacifica Christian Girls Basketball program took home a first-ever CIF-SS Championship win against Temple City High School in the Division 4A Final. Led by head coach Chyanne Butler, the Tritons won 69-44 over the Rams.

The Tritons opened up the game with a large lead, as freshman Addison Deal put the Tritons on the board with a layup. Leading by ten after the first quarter, Pacifica Christian continued to press offensively against the Rams with Sophomore Annika Jiwani leading her teammates. The squad's biggest lead during the game came in the third quarter as they went up by 24 points and continued to press, ending the game with a 69-44 win.

The Orange and Navy's big win secured a 25-5 record on the season, avenging their tough loss last season in the final against Louisville High School. As they head into a much more competitive state tournament, Butler is preparing her girls well. "We're breaking down a lot of film, focusing on our defense, and staying healthy mentally and physically," remarks Butler. The Tritons are seeded seventh in Division II of the CIF State Championship and will host Santa Monica High School on Tuesday evening at home in the Triton Event Center at 7 pm.
