Bio

Amy Nehrig lives in Huntington Beach, California, with her husband, David, and their four sons—three of whom have attended Pacifica. She grew up in Venice Beach, spending much of her time in the water and on the sand playing beach volleyball. Her love for Jesus, combined with her love for the ocean, quickly became the two most important things in her life.

While still in high school, Amy committed to a life in ministry, ready to serve however the Lord led. She went on to earn her teaching credential in English from Long Beach State. She and David married after a short engagement, united by their shared passion for the ocean, travel, and ministry.

For 20 years, Amy served alongside David as a pastor at Seaside Community Church, embracing ministry as a family lifestyle. In August 2019, the Nehrigs embarked on a sabbatical adventure, leaving Huntington Beach in their 1991 Winnebago Warrior and driving all the way to Panama. Along the way, God deepened Amy’s dependence on Him, strengthened her family bond, and reignited her love for the ocean.

In July 2020, Amy and her family stepped into a new chapter as National Directors for Christian Surfers United States. With her family’s passion for Pacifica’s mission and her love of surfing, coaching the Pacifica Surf Team has been a natural and joyful fit.
