Pacifica Christian Hires New Head Surf Coach

Pacifica Christian is pleased to announce the hiring of David Post as the new Head Surf Coach at Pacifica Christian High School. David Post, an Orange County native, is no stranger to the competitive surf scene or the Newport Beach landscape. Coach Post brings a love for the ocean and over 20+ years of competitive coaching and surfing to the Triton Surf Program.

" I am extremely excited about the hire of David Post as the new Head Coach of the Triton Surf Program," said Director of Athletics & Student Life Brandon Gonzalez. "With surfing being added to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics next summer, surfing has reached a whole new level of competition. Being introduced at the Olympics has truly elevated the sport, and we are excited to have a coach like Coach Post who can help us elevate our program to the next level as well."

Growing up and surfing the waves of Newport Beach, Dave spent most of his competitive years on the WQS World Tour. Being with the Volcom family his entire Professional career, mentors like Richard Woolcott, Troy Eckert, and Brad Dougherty, help to shape not only his surf career but his determination and work ethic. After ten years of professional surfing, Dave made the transition to coaching. Dave was the Volcom West Coast Surf Team Coach from 2007-2014 and is currently the Jack Surf Shop Team Manger for their Surf Team. Dave was also hired as the Corona Del Mar Head Surf Coach back in 2014 and still coaches during their Spring Season.

Coach Post resides in San Clemente with his wife Elizabeth, and their two children, Tava Post 13, and Zeland Post, 11. On his off time, Dave enjoys surfing and skating with his two children and is an avid yoga enthusiast. He and his family attend Shoreline Church in San Clemente, CA.
