Matthew's Leads Tritons to Victory on Senior Day


Boys' Golf finished off their regular season with a dominant with over Costa Mesa High School at Costa Mesa Country Club yesterday on senior day. The Tritons shot their team low 211 to beat the Mustangs, who shot 294. 

Freshman Lleyton Matthews shot a bogey-free one under par, for his lowest round at Los Lagos, and his second consecutive bogey-free round in a row. Lleyton had eight parts and a birdie on the par-five, hole number six. Sophomore Nick MacDougall came in second for the Orange and Navy, shooting four over par with a birdie on hole six. Senior Blake Bush posted a 44 while sophomore Rowan Larkin and Brandon Beck each posted a 45, with Larkin sinking a birdie on hole five. Sophomore Carter Nelson rounded things out for the Tritons with a 53. 

The Tritons concluded their regular season 13-6 and finished on a three-game winning streak over Samueli Academy, Newport Christian, and Costa Mesa. They will compete in the league tournament on April 31 and May 1st. More details to come.
