Bio

Jeff Berokoff will begin his 18th year as a Varsity Head Coach and his 11th year at the helm of the Pacifica Christian High School Tritons. During his time, the Tritons have compiled a successful 149-82 record and have won the San Joaquin League four times: 2020, 2023, 2024 and 2025

The Tritons have qualified for CIF playoffs in each of its 10 varsity seasons, including:

1 CIF Southern California Regional Champion

1 CIF State Runner Up

3 CIF Runner Ups

2 CIF State Quarterfinals appearances

3 CIF Semifinals appearances

5 CIF Quarterfinals appearances

9 CIF 1st Round appearances

The Tritons have also ended the past seven seasons being ranked in the top 15 in Orange County, including spending 3 straight weeks ranked #1 in Orange County during the 22-23 season.

As a player, Jeff experienced a storied career at Sonora High School in La Habra, winning three league championships and over 75 games. He still holds the record for most points in a season (601 in 25 games) and average points per game (24). Jeff was named First Team All-CIF, First Team Orange County, First Team All-State, and ranked the 17th best Shooting Guard in America by Athlon Sports Magazine. He continued his basketball career by accepting a basketball scholarship to San Diego State University (SDSU). Jeff played at SDSU for two years before transferring and playing his last two years at California Baptist University.

Jeff turned down a professional contract overseas to fully immerse himself in coaching, which became his passion. He coached for a high-level Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball program known as the Los Angeles Rockfish for 12 years. During his tenure in the AAU, he coached 75 players who received basketball scholarships and two who currently compete in the NBA.

Jeff teaches his players to compete every day, off the court as well as on. He believes that it is a powerful thing when young men come together as brothers and are willing to do anything for each other. Jeff feels as though playing the game solely to win is a shallow pursuit and doesn’t cultivate true gratification. Jeff trusts that the relationships built over the course of an athletic experience can last a lifetime and will result in true fulfillment.

Jeff and his beautiful wife Amy, a successful dance teacher and choreographer at the Orange County Performing Arts Academy, have been married for 10 years and have a 7 year daughter named Hadley and two year old son named Rowen. The Berokoffs enjoy cooking, traveling, going for walks, and supporting each other’s basketball games and dance competitions.
