Pacifica Christian High School Athletics

Boy’s Basketball 2023-2024 Season Outlook

The Boy's Basketball team returns to the court this year on Friday, November 17th against St. Margarets in Pacifica Christian's annual Bring the Rain Game. The Tritons graduated nine seniors last year after clinching the Southern Section Regional Title, as well as finishing as Runner Up in State in Division 2. The team is led by Jeff Berokoff who is entering his ninth year as Head Coach, making him one of two coaches who have been with Pacifica Christian since its opening in 2015. He is joined by assistant coaches Joe Kurz, Mike Connell, and Greg Brown. When asked about the upcoming season, Coach Berokoff remarked, "This is a young and talented group that will be exciting to watch. We are playing a very tough schedule which should toughen us up over the course of the season and prepare us for league and playoff action. I expect this group to play for one another and take a ton of charges."

Players to watch this year include Senior Alex Stewart and Junior EJ Spillman. Stewart the Vanguard University commit can score in a multitude of ways and his rebounding prowess and experience in big games are extremely valuable as the one returning senior from last year's group.  EJ is one of the best passing guards in the entire country with multiple division one offers. Spillman can score at all three levels and is the ultimate teammate.

The Orange and Navy have now moved up to Division 1 in CIF and will still compete in the San Joaquin League against CVCS, Fairmont Prep, Orangewood Academy, and San Gabriel Academy. In December, the Tritons will travel to Washington to compete in the Curtis Winter Classic as well as host the fourth annual BSN Showcase on January 6th in the Triton Event Center. There are two seniors on the team and they will be honored on Friday, January 26th vs CVCS.
