Boys Basketball Ranked 3rd in Orange County

The Pacifica Christian Boys Basketball team is currently ranked third in Orange County behind #1 Santa Margarita and #2 Fairmont Prep. Santa Margarita jumped into the number one slot after a huge 65-57 win over Mater Dei last week for the first time in 18 years, while Fairmont Prep has had a solid season thus far. 

The Tritons, are currently 15-8 on the season and 2-1 in the San Joaquin League. The Orange and Navy opened league play on January 4 where they hosted Orangewood Academy, beating them 55-41. A few days later, the squad hosted San Gabriel Academy and defeated them 54-42. The boys' also picked up a huge win against Trinity League School Orange Lutheran in the BSN Showcase in a nailbiter with a final score of 54-53. The team, unfortunately, picked up their first league loss on the road against Fairmont Prep last week. The Tritons battled to the end but came up short with a final score of 55-59.

The Orange and Navy have proven to be a very talented team with a lot of depth on their roster this season. Starters Tanner Deal, Salim Semaan, Alex Stewart, EJ Spillman, and Parker Strauss have been extremely dynamic out on the court. Logan Stewart, AJ Johnson, and Jeffry Bohlinger have also had a crucial part in the success of the team. The Tritons are led by Senior Parker Strauss who currently averages 12 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.

The squad has five more games left of the regular season including a big matchup tonight against Orangewood Academy on the road at 7:30 pm.
