CDM Beach Bash Recap
The Pacifica Christian Boy's Basketball Team who are currently ranked second in Division 2A in the latest CIF-SS polls competed in the CDM Beach Bash this past week, facing off against some tough local competition. The Tritons' won three out of their four games, beating Portola High School, San Clemente High School, and Los Alamitos High School.
Wednesday Night, the Orange and Navy took on the Bulldogs of Portola High School, beating them 75-36. The Bulldogs entered the tournament ranked #12 in Division 2A. The Tritons dominated that night as Sophomore EJ Spillman knocked down 14 points while Senior Tanner Deal added on an additional 13. Senior Parker Strauss had a double-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. The following night, the Tritons picked up their only loss of the tournament, against a tough JSerra squad who are currently ranked #12 in Division 1. EJ Spillman had 19 points while Senior Salim Semaan tallied 10 more points, but the Orange and Navy fell short, falling to the Lions 56-60.
The squad bounced back Friday Night as they hosted the Tritons of San Clemente High School in Pacifica Christians' annual Silent Night Game. Parker Strauss led the team to a 46-40 victory that evening as he had 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and four charges. The Orange and Navy finished the tournament strong the following night as they beat Los Alamitos High School 69-56. Salim Semaan was on fire Saturday night as he had 20 points while Tanner Deal had 11 points. Parker Strauss tallied 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists and Senior Jeffry Bohlinger had 10 assists.
After the Beach Bash, the squad has improved their season record to 7-2. The Tritons' will take a break next week as they prepare to travel to San Luis Obispo to compete in the Mission Prep Christmas Classic. Their first game will be on Saturday, December 17 against Taft High School at 4:30 pm. All games for the tournament will be held at Mission College Prep.
