Tritons Open 2025 Boys Beach Season With Statement Win Over Mater Dei, 4–3
Pacifica Christian Boys Beach Volleyball start the 2025 campaign 1–0 after edging Mater Dei, 4–3, in the competitive Orange County Beach Volleyball league. In his second season at the helm, Head Coach Cory Swartzbaugh had the Tritons ready from the first serve.
Leading the way were the No. 1 pairing of Atticus Graham and Quinn McIntee, who set the tone with a dominant sweep, 21–12, 21–8.
"Atticus has really grown into a very complete player over the last year. He's got everything you would want in a defender and has embraced the role as team captain," said Coach Swartzbaugh. "Atticus and Quinn shined as our ones pairing—they're forecasted to have a very successful, dominant season. The mixture of chemistry and individual skill will prove to be a potent combo."
The Tritons' summer preparation showed across the lineup. Competing in one of the nation's strongest boys' beach leagues—featuring perennial powers like Newport Harbor, Los Alamitos, and Edison—Pacifica Christian once again punched above its weight, winning four of the five pairs matches to clinch the team result before the fours.
In league scoring, each pairs win is worth one point and the fours is worth two. Even after dropping the fours in a thriller, 30–32, Pacifica Christian sealed the overall victory, 4–3.
