Pacifica Christian Girls Cross Country Achieves Historic #5 CIFSS Ranking

The Pacifica Christian Girls Cross Country team has reached new heights, earning their highest ranking in school history at #5 in the latest CIF Southern Section (CIFSS) rankings, as reported by PrepCalTrack. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the team, which is poised to make 2024 a season to remember.

Led by a talented group of seniors—Ashley Gundlach, Katie Fischer, and Akyli Maze—alongside standout junior runner Lila Glidewell, the Lady Tritons have solidified themselves as one of the top programs in the region. Their collective strength, determination, and leadership have made them the favorites to win the San Joaquin League Championship, which would mark the first league title in the school’s history for Girls Cross Country.

All of this success comes under the guidance of first-year head coach Neil Massaro, who has swiftly guided the team to this historic milestone. Coach Massaro’s leadership has energized the program, with the team showing immense growth and potential throughout the season.

The Lady Tritons are not only focused on the league championship but also have their sights set on making another deep run in both the CIF Southern Section and CIF State Tournaments. With their current form and unity, they are positioned to make a significant impact on the postseason stage.

As they head toward the culmination of their season, the Tritons are carrying the hopes of their school community with pride, ready to compete and continue breaking barriers in school history.
